At 35, I ran my first half marathon and shortly after met the man of my dreams. I got married at 38, had my first child at 39, second at 43 and finished my first marathon at 50.
Residing in the Atlanta Georgia area, I am a wife and mom of an elementary school princess and of my son, an angel who soars in heaven. As a native, I love the ATL and enjoy discovering new places. Theme Parks, Beach, Mountains, Sun or Snow – I LOVE VACATIONS!
I have never considered myself athletic though I have completed 9 half marathons and one full marathon. A mid to back of pack Galloway interval style runner, I run for my health and for some “me” time. runDisney races are my faves – but hey I am branching out. While not the fastest runner and focused on my health, I do have a particular set of skills – I have fun at races!
A graduate of Georgia Tech, my diverse career included Internet Product Development Manager, Sales and Marketing Manager of Licensed Products, Inside Sales Manager Promotional and Premium Products, Accounts Payable Manager and Preschool Teacher. Life takes on whole new perspective when surrounded by 3 year olds though it’s really kind of the same at times as running a corporate meeting or project. Some days I do miss my cubicle and the office coffee talk though I gave it up when I brought home my daughter from the hospital with no regrets.
I love music – all kinds – but the longest loves I have are Sting and Cher. I play the Piano to relax and miss being in a hand bell choir. These days, we are listening to Kids Bop, yeah. If the TV is on, I am probably watching Game of Thrones, Newsroom, Homeland, Downton Abbey, Mad Men, The Walking Dead, Call the Midwives, House of Cards, Live with Kelly and Micheal or Jimmy Fallon.
I love Disney and might get a little crazy when the “Move It Shake It Celebrate It” street party heads to the hub. Really, I should get out more.
I am just taking life as it comes trying to find my happy pace in all things.
Join me in my quest.
